The Challenge

This Halswell family wanted pleated flyscreens so they could keep their sliding doors open on summer evenings, let fresh air through the house and leave the lights on – without inviting every moth and mosquito inside.
Our Solution

We recommended pleated flyscreens for all three doors. A pleated screen folds away neatly to the side when it isn’t needed, so the doorway stays clear, and slides closed in seconds when the evening comes.
Each screen was made to measure at our Christchurch factory with a black aluminium frame to match the existing door frames. The bottom rail is only 10mm high, so it sits almost level with the door track and is easy to step over. The fine pleated mesh keeps insects out while still letting the breeze – and the view – come through.
From order to installation took just one week.
The Result
The family can now open all three sliding doors wide in the evening with the lights on, and no longer worry about insects being drawn inside. Fresh air moves through the house, and on warm summer nights they can enjoy a cool breeze instead of running the air conditioning.
The black frames blend in with the joinery, so the screens look like they were always part of the house.
